Each year, the City of Denver renames Blake Street “Tooley Street” prior to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This tradition honors Dale Tooley —father of Denver attorneys Brian Tooley, Keith Tooley, and Patrick Tooley—who served as Denver’s District Attorney from 1973 through 1982 and was selected as the parade’s Grand Marshal 40 years ago.
At yesterday’s official “Changing of the Sign” ceremony, Brian Tooley said that Denver’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, one of the largest West of the Mississippi, comes just as spring is arriving and brings a new attitude and new optimism, and that his Dad would be very proud if he could see his legacy and spirit still thriving in Denver.
